My work mines archives (personal and public), spaces, and locations to highlight connections through shared Black experiences and shift interpretations with every viewer. The inclusion of seemingly mundane objects works as both a visual timeline and a marker of the synchronicities of Black time. It challenges the binaries we continually reconstruct between our own identity and experiences. Through my use of color and medium, I offer a unique view into every age and person I have ever been. I am inspired by childhood, care, tradition, interpersonal relationships, vulnerability, intimacy, and identity.
